October 2021 I have been getting more and more irritated by Facebook and its desire to control what users see and manage their internet time with pushed content. As a result I have taken a decision to back off from Social media and see how much it affects my life. I suspect, not a lot ! It does mean that I will miss out on some of the postings of some super artists I have followed, but I will also lose a load of rubbish which is of no interest at all and merely takes up computer time and annoys me. Sorry if this means that I miss out on your masterpieces, but I would still love to hear from my many art based friends from time to time. Until I find a social media that is friendly to me, I will be settling down in my corner to sulk. Cheers Peter

January 2022 Strangely, I haven’t missed Facebook during the last few months, though I do follow one or two people through their websites, so I am not totally out of touch. I am currently exploring painting acrylics on to poured epoxy resin, and after a couple of messy failures now feel that I am getting the hang of it. When I get a bit more advanced with the current masterpiece, I will take a photo and post it here. It is of tropical fish swimming in a shallow bowl - The stones are real, the water is resin and the fish and the plants are painted in stages and the several layers give them a solid effect. Peter
March 2022 Having moved on a bit from fish in a bowl, I have now completed two resin landscapes. They are each 8 inches by 6 inches ( so quite small ) but frame up nicely in an open box style frame without glass. The resin has a mirror finish hard surface and the pictures give a 3D effect when you move your head as they are painted in several layers. You don’t get the same effect here, but I will show the most current two below, anyway.
The second one ( Of St Michael’s Mount in Cornwall ) is not as effective as there are fewer layers - The garden scene has 12 layers of picture. I think I will have to plan future references for this style of work to ensure there are lots of foreground elements to build up the effect. The tree on the left of the garden at the top is in the top layer of resin so truly appears ahead of the background.
